About the School
The Royal Temple School of Navigation and Sail Training is run by professionals with over 30 years of experience. The lecturers have, between them, sailed many sea miles including several ocean passages. They share their ancient mariners tales and anecdotes and help students gain new knowledge and experiences.
The Shore-based Navigation Courses run during the winter months from October to March on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday evenings from 19.30 to 21.00. Other shore-based courses such as VHF, CEVNI, First Aid & Radar are arranged as required and Practical Courses are available throughout the year The School is able to accommodate up to 50 students each year and is usually fully subscribed, so remember to book early.
If you, like many others, are looking for ways to improve your navigation skills, why not enrol one of the many courses run by this school.
Students are taught in a relaxed, non-pressurised atmosphere (with a bar nearby) by lecturers who have both navigational and teaching qualifications. You will meet new friends and learn to read charts and plot courses, allowing for wind , tide and weather, master the Collision Rules and Regulations, find out what Meteorology is all about and lots more.
