The Royal Temple Yacht Club offers a Proud Heritage & a Welcoming Community.
For nearly 170 years, Royal Temple Yacht Club has brought people together through a shared love of sailing, the sea and good company.
Founded in 1857 on the River Thames, the club moved its sailing activities towards the Kent coast as commercial traffic increased on London’s river. Our Ramsgate clubhouse opened in 1896, followed by Royal recognition in 1897.
Today, our historic home overlooks Ramsgate Royal Harbour, providing a unique setting for a vibrant sailing and social community.
Sailing Is at Our Heart
Sailing remains central to everything we do.
Our members participate in yacht racing, cruising, radio sailing and navigation training, while our sailing programmes provide opportunities for people to develop their skills, gain experience and enjoy time on the water.

Our members include yacht owners, racing crews, cruising enthusiasts, radio sailors, families and people who simply enjoy the atmosphere and friendships of a welcoming waterfront club.

Over the years the club has become an active part of the Ramsgate scene, we operate a full calendar of Racing and Cruising and Radio sailing along with a social programme throughout the year.
